LED camp lantern with wire bail

Seen in Dispersed 3D: the lantern on the table, at camp, once you start your chores (computers and phones)

campv4Pack: Overland Campdispersed3dcampgearlightnight

The request An LED camp lantern with a wire bail handle and a frosted globe that is emissive for night use, about 0.25 m tall. Low poly for a phone browser game, under 800 triangles, origin at the base center, PBR materials.

In the game Dispersed 3D: hangs from the awning or sits on the table at night; its frosted globe is emissive so the player can see it glow after dark.

Built by a script an AI agent wrote in Blender, and checked against its renders before it went up. You can watch it being made, from a recording.

Watch it appear in Blender

A short video of the model being drawn in Blender, one part at a time, from one fixed camera so versions line up. It shows the version you picked under “Spin it”. Play the recording below and it follows along.

Version 3

Made by running this version’s own script again in Blender. Parts appear in the order the script made them, one face at a time. The colors come on at the end. Nothing is written on the video.

  1. Version 4 newest

    Oct 12, 2026 · 2,556 triangles · 2 materials

LED camp lantern with wire bail (v4)

What changed from v3, and why: Finish the lantern the way the jerry can, water jug and table were finished (Claude, 10/12): a high-detail source with beveled edges and procedural physically based materials, baked onto a light game model with base color, ORM and normal maps. The globe stays its own material, named exactly lantern_frosted_globe_emissive with its emission, because the game lights that mesh at dusk.

LED camp lantern, finished: same shape, size and colors as v3, now a 48,528-triangle high-detail source (every edge beveled: ribbed rubber bumper, molded plastic base with a battery door and screws, rubber gaskets, powder-coated cap with sixteen vent slots, four screws and a raised ring, two lugs with steel pivots, a steel wire bail with a nine-ring rubber grip, a fluted orange knob with a pointer and a collar) baked into a 1,884-triangle game body with three 1024 px maps (base color, occlusion-roughness-metal, normal). The frosted globe (672 triangles) stays its own mesh and material, lantern_frosted_globe_emissive, with its warm-white glow, so the game can still light it at dusk. 2,556 triangles in all, 498 KB GLB, two materials. All textures are procedural, nothing downloaded.

    Model: 2556 triangles, 2 materials, 498 KB GLB, 0.12 x 0.25 x 0.12 m (width x height x depth).

LED camp lantern with wire bail (v3)

What changed from v2, and why: Rebuild the globe from 8 smoothly spaced rings (16 sides) so its outline is round, and make the bail lugs dark plastic instead of steel.

LED camp lantern, 25 cm tall: a dark plastic base with an orange switch knob on the front, a frosted egg-shaped globe with a warm-white emissive material (the file carries emissive strength 3 so the game can make it glow at night), a vented dark cap, two dark lugs and a thin steel wire bail with a rubber grip sleeve at the top. 776 triangles, 26 KB GLB, five materials, no textures. Three rounds: v1 was 898 triangles with hidden caps and a faceted globe; v2 got under 800 by merging the foot and deleting hidden faces; v3 rebuilt the globe from smoothly spaced rings and made the lugs dark plastic.

    Model: 776 triangles, 5 materials, 26 KB GLB, 0.12 x 0.25 x 0.12 m (width x height x depth).
