Camp axe and short shovel, crossed

Seen in Dispersed 3D: the axe and shovel lying crossed by the fire ring, at camp once the fire is lit (computers and phones)

campv4Pack: Overland Campdispersed3dcampgeartools

The request A camp axe and a folding or short shovel lying crossed (or leaning together), wood and steel, real proportions in meters, under 1,200 triangles, low poly, origin at the base center, PBR materials.

In the game Dispersed 3D: lies by the woodpile and fire ring; the camp chores (split wood, bury the fire) show these tools.

Built by a script an AI agent wrote in Blender, and checked against its renders before it went up. You can watch it being made, from a recording.

Watch it appear in Blender

A short video of the model being drawn in Blender, one part at a time, from one fixed camera so versions line up. It shows the version you picked under “Spin it”. Play the recording below and it follows along.

Version 3

Made by running this version’s own script again in Blender. Parts appear in the order the script made them, one face at a time. The colors come on at the end. Nothing is written on the video.

  1. Version 4 newest

    Oct 12, 2026 · 1,712 triangles · 1 material

Camp axe and short shovel, crossed (v4)

What changed from v3, and why: Finish the camp axe and shovel the way the jerry can, water jug and table were finished (Dave: 'do the camp gear the jerry can way', after comparing our renders with a professional store): a high-detail source with beveled edges, a honed axe bit, the eye and wedge, a hickory handle with grain and a hand-worn grip, a shovel blade with a rolled bead and rolled step, a riveted socket and a ribbed D grip, baked into a light game model.

Camp axe and short shovel, crossed: same pose, sizes and colors as v3, now finished properly. A 13,796-triangle high-detail source (a beveled axe head with a honed bright edge, nicks and a steel wedge across the end grain; a hickory handle with its swell, grain and a hand-worn grip; a shovel blade with a pressed rib, a rolled bead along both edges and a rolled step across the back; a riveted socket; a ribbed rubber D grip with a ferrule) baked into a 1,712-triangle game model with three 1024 px maps (base color, occlusion-roughness-metal, normal). Forged steel with dark scale, bare bright steel at worn edges and a little rust in the pits; hickory with long grain and a darker, smoother grip; a painted blade with bare steel along the nose, digging scratches and dirt packed on the digging end. One material, one object, 515 KB GLB (v3 was 584 triangles, 5 materials, 131 KB). All textures are procedural, nothing downloaded.

    Model: 1712 triangles, 1 material, 515 KB GLB, 0.60 x 0.14 x 0.50 m (width x height x depth).

  2. Version 3

    Oct 11, 2026 · 584 triangles · 5 materials

Camp axe and short shovel, crossed (v3)

What changed from v2, and why: Thicken the axe head (poll and eye about 25 percent thicker), darker brown wood, and add a render hint so the hero shot frames the pair closer.

A camp axe and a short shovel lying crossed on the ground. Axe: 46.5 cm curved hickory handle with a swell at the end, a chunky steel head with a bowed, bright cutting edge. Shovel: 66 cm overall, dished steel blade with a pointed tip, turned-up edges and a raised center rib, a black socket, a wooden shaft and a rubber D grip. A small solver in the script tilts the axe just enough that its handle clears the shovel shaft while the head rests flat on the ground. Wood grain and bare-steel wear are painted by the script. 584 triangles, 131 KB GLB. Three rounds: v1 had orange wood and a straight edge, v2 fixed the wood, bowed the edge and added the rib, v3 thickened the head and darkened the wood.

    Model: 584 triangles, 5 materials, 131 KB GLB, 0.60 x 0.13 x 0.50 m (width x height x depth).
